So here I am, on my shop floor, with a harness laying across my lap. I have a few questions for the group. There will be more to come I'm sure...

1. Pin 25: Wastegate Valve Control Solenoid. I am obviously using an outboard wastegate. Does this need to be connected? And the next questions is, connected to what?

2. Fuel injector resistor pack. Did Nissan have two or more different molex plugs? I left the resistor pack from my old engine on the car, and now I have a new wiring harness, and seemingly a completely different plug. What's the deal? I traced six wires from the plug all the way up to the injectors, so I know it's the right harness.

3. Pin 44: Neutral Position Switch: do I just leave this cut and dangling, or does it need to be grounded for the engine to start?

More to come, I'm sure...

Thanks in advance.

Scott

OK, EGT time...

Pin 29 is front EGT sensor, and pin 55 is rear EGT sensor. When using a single turbo, and one EGT sensor, use just the front one? Keep the rear one disconnected? Or connect rear and front in parallel? (the electronics person in me says that parallel sensors is a bad idea)

1. i think you can just leave it disconnected.2. i don't know the answer to that.3. the car will start with or without this connected. it's just like how you can start the car in 1st gear with the clutch in, or you can start the car in neutral with the clutch in. you don't have the sensor to connect it to?

egt... i think you mean the o2 sensors? you can parallel them. i have no problems with mine like that.

Time for some MAFS...

I will be using the AEM EMS with 5-bar MAP sensor. Obviously, there's some way to connect one of the MAFS wiring harnesses to the MAP...well, that's not really my question...yet. Which MAFS harness do I run to the future location of the MAP sensor. It probably doesn't matter, right? Just pick the front sensor I reckon?

Second question, while on the subject... Has anyone here done a MAP "conversion" from MAFS for the AEM stand-alone? Is there any guidance as to wiring for the RB26 anywhere on the net?

TIA as always.

AEM has good documentation on how to hook up the MAP sensor when removing the MAF in the 1621 instructions...

Pin 30 - Goes to Black wire on map sensor harnessPin 35 - Goes to Green wire on map sensor harnessPin 48 - Goes to Red wire on map sensor harness

If you dont plan on going back to MAF, I would just get rid of all of the remaining wires and simplify the harnessPin
