RB26DETT? What are the stock turbos?

I saw somewhere that the stock twin turbos on the TT are T28's, is this true?

RB25DETs technically have T3s, but they're tiny.

RB26DETT's supposedly have ball bearing T28s similar to the S14 turbo, however, I have also heard that they have T25s, I won't know for sure until mine shows up. : )

I was just curious because I saw this this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...01275 I wouldnt buy from him just because he has very little feedback but it made me curious and wonder if TT T28's go onto a SR easily.

The R33 GTR turbos are technically a T28, but they have quite a small exhaust housing (.48 IIRC, the same as the T25 on the CA) and ceramic internals which means they aren't much good for high boost. Most of the GTR guys over here fit steel internals.

Ah, I see the difference, do you think that possibly in Japan they came with the S14 T28s and in England they came more with a T25? That would explain the confusion between sources... : )

i always thought the gt-r turbine housings were t3 flanged..

isn't that correct?

no, the RB25 is T3 flanged. The RB26 has T25 flanges.

Its unlikely, 99% of GTRs in the UK are imports - Only a couple of R33s were officially brought over by Nissan, by all accounts the only difference was the ECU (no speed cut).

I've got the UK parts catalog for the R33 GTR, if you have the Japanese part numbers I can compare them. Also I've asked a mate of mine to take some close up pics of the stock GTR turbos when he's next at the garage (should be this weekend).

Oh yeah, something else about the RB swap, the front anti-roll bar has to be modified to clear the sump...

i have a r34 gt-r turbocharger, and it has a t3 flange.. or do i not have an r34 gt-r turbocharger.

what you can't make up your f*** mind hell why doesn't some one call Motorex and find out I am sure the would know but then again see you are the GOD of turbo's matt that you should know what they are right

That info needs to be revised, I know for a fact that the RB26 has a T25 flange. The RB25 has a T3 flange.

just to clarify something....can the turbo's from ebay fit on a KA24 engine with a custom exhaust manifold? or is more work needed?

Most exhaust manifolds are going to incorporate either the Mitsu or the Garret Turbocharger designs. Most incorporate the Garret. So if you get a Garret T3/T4 then it should work.
