I know that this is the RB Engines Thread, but I haven't seen anything about RB26DETT's (except for the topic about the 350Z with the RB26). It is possible to put an RB26DETT into a 240SX isn't it? I thought that it was possible... am I wrong? Just wondering?

ill help you out, im in a good mood today. yes its possible. the swap is very similar to the rb20 and 25 but requires a few extra considerations. the rb26dett has twin turbos which get in the way of the steering shaft. this is the main concern with folks wanting to do the swap. there are four ways that i know of that can cure this. 1) ive heard that custom downpipes can be made to work with it, i dont know how true that is. 2) custom single turbo/top mount manifold could be fabbed to clear the steering. 3)convert to right hand drive(im getting the conversion if your interested). 4) custom steering shaft to clear the factory turbo setup. im not the most knowledgable person here, so maybe others will have something else to say.

rtsol, equally or even more important is the fact that you need to use an RB25 transmission. That probably costs more to get in the states than some sort of right hand conversion or custom steering column. Just my two cents.

I know you didn't ask, but you can get the full swap for close to $4900. I lost the link but i will post back to let you know where to get it.

The motor can be but in TT with the stock turbos, but new o2 housing and down pipe are needed as well as the install parts. Both the 13 and 14 will work...With the stock steering and crossmember. Two have been done with our kits and we have 2 in work here now...

Got any prices on the install kit for a S14? I'm pretty sold on going RHD but if it isn't too expensive i might go for the kit...
