RB26DETT Swap + AWD + AWS?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

I'm thinking of undergoing a large project... I want to throw a RB26DETT into a 240z. I know this have been done many times, but I would also like to carry over the all wheel drive and all wheel steering... Is this possible?

I know the RB26 with AWD tranny has been done in a 240 before - try searching on the RB forum about it - good luck with the project

You would have to change the rear suspension to one with a toe control link as found on other cars, then find a place to put the steering rack that wouldn't induce a whole a**-ton of bump steer and then you'd have to find some way to control the rear rack that wouldn't have you spinning out and wrecking on the highway.

Sounds like trouble to me.

You could swap in a hicas subframe from a 240sx in there to get all the mounts. Then it would be a matter of wiring up the controller and the hydraulic lines from the power steering pump. At that point your probably going to want to swap in most if not all of a skyline wiring harness to make everything play nice. Not sure how hard it is to swap in a z32 front suspension but they are almost identical to the r32 set up and would get you the ability to run awd front hubs.

Dont know if this is helpful but theres a shop in Arizona that does this swap, they are called "Full Race" and are usually quite helpful and respond quickly to emails

I've only heard of 1 complete awd rb28 S30 swap, it was a max of custom parts, and skyline parts, not worth the drama and expense, the basic rb engine swap is enough of a pain without the awd drama, mckinney sells bolt in mounts for the rwd swap, there is a guy doig the rb in th eclassis z section now

It can be done, but is it worth it?????? alot of work for for little gain. BUT as a WOW look at that car its ok.. FullRace did the awd conversion for a while and did a good job , but as a business adventure not sure you can make money do to all the custom work required. As a parsonal car with time and money YES.. there are several out there done VERY wrong, so do some research before starting..
