had an rb26 installed into my car... wiring-good, vacuum-so so... fixed most of the problems... but still have a bad idle and will die when letting off the throttle... narrowed it down to the fact that it turns out we have after market injectors without any air/fuel management system to correct the balance and it is running way too rich. so i bought and correctly installed the new afc neo and have the initial set up complete... after getting into the system, i realized that my knowledge has reached its peak and i do not know where to go from here. if anyone any suggestions, ie: how to do a basic setting on the neo, or get my car running better (lol), i am all ears. also, it is running worse since the neo is in, obviously because it has no settings on it yet. thank you for your time.

ok... engine is running smooth.. took it home today.... but theres a new problem... i need a new transmission. other shop left the rb26 transmission in and said they fixed the awd situation... when in fact they just plugged the hole in the transfer.... so i need an rb25det transmission... anyone selling one? seems they are harder to find than i thought...(after an hour of searching) .... but if anyone has any inexpensive leads.. send them this way... until then.... ill be searching away... thanks all...

i know mckinney's website says they are out of stock of the trannies but it couldnt hurt to call and ask. zerolift may have a trans as well. just call all the engine sellers and ask. jarco, jhot, venus etc.

I think JGY sells transmissions too. But you are looking at 1800 bucks anywhere you look unfortunatly.

funny thing... couldnt ask my lady to drive me to work anymore... its costing too much on gas for the two of us....(irvine to oceanside, twice a day...) so i picked up an s13 last night as a dd... cool lil car... super hicas... 91.... 150k.... runs strong... drives well... body is good... interior... eeehhhhh so so... but all in all.. it will be nice as my dd... NOW I HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD... TO WORK AND SAVE FOR MY RB'D 14!! YAY!... but i have a question that i cant find.... i found out how to cancel hicas if i ever decide to drift the car... but what if i just want to put it on coils and dump it? do i have to cancel them? i talked to some friends about it and they said it should be fine.. but you all are the experts....... let me know...

Cheaper to just chop the transfer case off like the kangaroo boys do and weld it shut. The 26 trans uses a 4 bolt flange on both ends of it's drive shaft, so if you already have a shaft and you plan on getting a 25 trans, get ready to buy another shaft. What I want to know is, how the hell did they fit the transfer case in the transmission tunnel to begin with?! If it fits under there, it would save me from welding a 6"x6" plate on mine. Then all I'd have to do is weld a 3" diameter saucer around the shaft hole and call it a day. See if you can get some under car pics! This makes me curious.

it wasnt as bad a fit as expected. we did have to bang out a little bit but it actually fit pretty easily. the car is on the drawing board in my garage right now lol... waiting for me to find the spare $$ to get it going again. question though, my friends and mechanics all tell me that the rb transfer removal is not really an option.. that its risky and troublesome. have you made that transmission work before? cuz they way i look at it now is that there is like no resistance because there are no front wheels connected to the transfer... so the gear and chain are just free spinning.... when i take that part off... the gear will just still free spin... will i get all the lost power transferred to my rear wheels?

Yeah it should transfer to the rear wheels. Even with the transfer case still on the transmission, all power goes to the rear wheels unless you wired up the transmission to control it. The ATTESSA AWD control system Nissan designed works by allowing all power to drive the rear wheels in normal driving conditions. It activates the front wheel torque distribution in increments based on how much wheel spin it sees in the rear. Without the ATTESSA ecu wired in to control the torque split, the clutches in the transfer case never engage unless you use some type of electronic controller to do so. Skyline GTR owners (and Full-Race's R14) have been known to buy an after market torque split controller to manually adjust and turn on/off their front wheel bias and by how much. For example, they can adjust this aftermarket unit to keep AWD on with10%-50% power going to the front wheels with the simple turn of a knob or just turn the whole thing off for 100% RWD. As I said before though, if none of it is wired to begin with, all power will go to the rear, just how you want it to.
