Hi Everyone,

I'm embarrassed to say that when I disassembled my motor, apparently I didn't label all my bolts carefully enough and now at reassembly time, I'm having a hard time identifying the correct RB26DETT Power Steering Mount bolts.
Normally, I would just order new ones from Nissan and be done with it, but I believe these bolts are now discontinued.

I believe these three bolts should be class "9" bolts and include a washer, but I'm not sure of the precise length or thread count. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to post some pictures of what the correct bolts should look like so I can see if I can locate them in my bolt box. And if you consider including a metric ruler next the picture, that would be extra swell. And I'm willing to send some funds your way for assisting me with this identification process.

The original part numbers should be:

08171-0481A (x1 bolt)
08171-0321A (x2 bolts)

And lastly, if I have actually lost these bolts, I am willing to pay for some originals in case anyone has some extras. Thanks guys.

I have over 800 lbs of freshly-restored and replated Nissan bolts.

If you can figure out the length and thread pitch, I'll send them to you for the cost of postage.

If you don't have a thread checker, get one. Cheap and easy.

Or, I have an RB on a stand, I can check the thread pitch - DM me a reminder, and measure the thickness of the mount.

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to post additional information to close this topic. A special thanks to Charles at Fulford Solutions (Ebay seller) in Canada for the information on these discontinued bolts.
Note that these are embossed with a "9" on the head. I think this is Nissans version of a Grade 10 bolt maybe?

Hi AZhitman! I did not see your reply until now as I'm posting the update. My apologies. :)

The old JIS grades (pre-2000) used a number indicating 1/10 of the nominal tensile strength in KgF/mm2. This is before the familiar "N.N" ISO standard was adopted. Sometimes the markings were 4T, 7T, 9T, etc, but more often just a number with a dot like the bolts you have. The 9T's would be high strength, roughly equivalent to an ISO 10.9.

Thank you VStar! Great info indeed. I can see why these bolts would require a "9" being a power steering bracket mount and the load that the power steering pump must be under. I definitely wouldn't want to switch out a bolt out for a "7" and risk whatever the Nissan design engineers had in mind that made it a "9" bolt. :) Thank you again. :)
