In some cases i see people using two blow off valves, my question is in what cases are two actually necessary? I'm planning to use one HKS SQV BOV, i dont' mind flaming as long as your posting helpful information regarding my post

One good BOV is fine. I don't think that one would be adequate alone though.

i have a HKS SSQV on my R33, works really fine without any stall's leaking. only thing is that the high pitch sound gets really annoying...

btw has anyone ever tried using 2 different BOVs on the same application? LOL i always wanted to try that to get 2 different sounds going at once

I pondered that as well...found out that the OEM ones (at least for the R32) are Mitsubishi, same as the 1G DSMs and S13s.

I was confused by the fact that it's a single pipe that splits to 2 BOVs, and then immediately back to a single pipe for the recirc. My only guess is that they wanted to just be able to use the same BOVs they have for the S13's and used 2 to make sure they handle the extra volume of airflow compared to the SR20.

My R32 came with a single eBay craptastic BOV (and no recirc piping), which I immediately replaced with a single SSQV. Even at WOT it vents just fine.(and personally I love the high-pitched sound. But you can get an adapter that is quieter)

Were you recirculating or venting to atmosphere?

The shop prepping the car to give to me apparently "lost" the recirc pipe, so I'm venting to atmo, and I stutter and stall HORRIBLY.

But I've got an EMS to replace the ECU with, and with that I'll be able to switch from MAF to speed-density mapping, so that should solve the problem.

You'd only need one BOV because the turbos are sequential.

Nope, GTR turbos are parallel. FD rotaries and 2JZs are sequential. Another reason the RB26 is better, haha.

Oh really? Damn, I was told they were sequential.

yeah the rb26 turbos are non-sequential. about the BOV, i think you can do it either way, either one large capacity or 2 smaller ones.

Nope. Both are identical-sized T28's. In fact, the wastegates work off a single tube that splits to the two turbos after the stock Boost Control Solenoid.Don't know if their swappable (move the back one to the front and vice-versa), but they are definitely parallel.
