So I tried modifying my rb26 oil pan into my 240. It worked but the idiot who did forgot to weld the ends shut and now my car leaks a little oil from the oil pan. I called a local shop that has done a couple of swaps and they told me that the best thing to do was to take the oil pan off and send it to him to get welded. I asked him if I could just buy the oil pan from the rb25 and he said that it would fit but something about the bolts not lining up or something. He said that it would be leaking within a year. Does anyone know what could be done in this situation? I have a 95 240sx with the rb26 in it by the way.

i have a rb26dett in my 1997 s14 ... i use the gtr oil pan cause there is more oil capacity in it !!! just weld it shut like so :

if you use a rb25det pan the bolt dont line up (i think) ... and i sure that the oil pick up tube is different ... you need to cut inside the pan !!!

plus when you use the rb25 pan you will have to cut out the oil baffles and you will not have any kind of oil baffles wich can cause major problems

there are pros and cons to both pans which have already been discussed in this forum. but yea if you already have the 26 pan that just needs some repair stick with that one.

Thanks. What sucks is that now I have to take the whole motor back out to do that. The idiots that were doing my swap didn't weld it shut and now it's leaking. Anyone got an extra rb26 oil pan laying around? lol

HAHAHA, LMAO. I just wanted another one so it wouldn't take as long to have the car not running. But yeah, I'm taking the motor out this weekend.
