I know the sr20 swap is fairly easy. But is it possible to put an Rb26Dett in an s13 240sx engine bay. I know a guy who says he'll do it if I find out about the difficulty of installation. And fork over the bucks. Let me know if you know anything remotely regarding this, or even about the Sr20 swap. Thanks

Anything is possible. The RB20 has been swapped by U-H and with a little effort the RB26DETT should snuggle right on into your engine bay. Question is, do you have the money and time to figure it out. I've seen pricing for the RB26DETT as a special order item for something like $10,000 US. On the plus side you would have the only one on the continent.

Hehe, not the only one.

I will ( almost 100% ) be doing it to my car when my engines arrive.

Estephen ( Escaflowne from FA ) will be doing it down in Florida near the end of this year as well.

But, to my knowledge no one has done it yet, I"m still hoping to be the first documented swap. : )

Its significantly more work than the SR20. : ) The RB20 isn't so bad, the RB25 is a little work, the RB26 is a lot of work. You also better plan to put in the RWD RB25 Tranny and oil pan, as the Attessa would be extremely difficult to do. : ) Not just something you can drop in and then figure out. There doesn't appear to be a boatload of work, but I wouldn't have someone unfamiliar with the engine just up and do it, it won't be all that easy. : )

Good luck!

option video volume 100 tape 2 the yearbook.......shows a s13 with the RB in it.....to be honest i wasn't impressed with it.....however i don't know what aftermarket mods if any were made.....but the 1/4 mile time wasn't that impressive and i imagine that to be the only reason to do that swap.....drag racing.but anyways best of luck to all of you...i hope it goes well

I do believe the S13 with the RB26 was tuned for the 300Kmh shoot out. It may not be fast in the quarter mile but it is still fast.

It doesn't destroy handling. Its comparable to putting a V8 in a rotary and that doesn't **** up their handling. : )

It was a picture of a skyline's engine bay with an exterior picture of a S15...nothing really special about it.

Oh, and in regards, yes I did see it, DA Performance tried to pass it off as their own. Then when caught they claimed they just wanted to show people how cool the swap that someone else had done was, then when they were called out on that, they said it was just a neat article and they wanted to show people. Even though it clearly said sample article only. : )

I know this is an old thread but Underground Motorsports has an S14 with the RB26 and S15 front end. There are 2 RB26 swaps in Arkansas, so I know there has to be many more in the "better" states of the U.S.
