I will be getting a rb26dett front clip from my uncle when he returns from Japan and I am going to be purchasing mounts, rb25 transmission, oil pan, big brake kit for the rears, and z32 300zx brakes for the front, some 17's all round 9's or 10''s in the rears for the rubber, and 8's in the front, apexi n1 coil overs, apexi n1 duals exhaust, custom piping, I am planning on keeping the stock intercooler that comes with the clip and running just a bit over or at stock boost as the rb26dett will be very very veyr quick in the s13 for now...I am thinking that everything will beokay and since the mounts can help me save the twins I guess my only concern is a custom down pipe? maybe hood? and possible re-location of a/c if i can squeeze it in?? also I will be sending the harness out to get spliced to my s13 harness....am I leaving anything out?? I think this is feseable withe everything I listed,..and not that bad...the swap is jsut the same as any engine swap as long as you have the mounts and the harness made...please tell me if I am wrong...btw what is the earliest S13?? I have 3 donor cars with no engines before they go to auction, 89, 90, 93 I want to get the 89 or 90 if the swap is possible,,..please list anything I forgot..thanx...yea I have a very generous family and some cash to throw around :)

mckinney motorsports. better get their number on speed dial and make sure they have your credit card on file.lol. seriously call them up and see what they say, don't be suprised if they want some money for their expertise. a couple other shops might know but I know for a fact that mckinney will help you. If you pull it off it will be bad ***. Also, the stock twins aren't really worth salvaging. If you are going to all that work you will want something better anyway. When is your uncle returning from japan? I need some GTR turbo outlet extensions and downpipes in a hardcore way and I'm more than willing to pay for them. If your rb26 clip comes with them, they won't clear the steering shaft anyway, and I'd gladly compensate you for them.hit me up,[email protected]

There is also a guy in Mississauga who is doing an RB25 conversion into an S13. Maybe he can assist you as well (plus they are local).

Marquez Motors - 2133 Royal Windsor Drive, Unit #31

I am interested in doing an RB26DETT swap in an old 240Z shell I have. When does your clip arrive? If OK with you, I'd like to come and see it when it gets here so I can see if it is feasible. I live in the Toronto area as well.

there is a big problem, the size of a t28 turbo which sits right on the steering shaft of the s13. thats why rb26dett swaps are so difficult to do. they ARE possible but you need ALOT of customizing. down here a shop call DRAG INTERNATIONAL charges about $6000 dollars for an RB25DET swap but about $12000 for an RB26DETT because of all the customizing. i have attached a picture of they privately owned 240 with an RB26DETT swap.this is all in MIAMI the shop is in BROWARD

One of my friends owns a 240 with an rb25det swap done by the same shop. and the car runs great.

THIS IS THEYRE SHOP

Sorry if I am kinda ignorant---I haven't seen this in real-life yet, although I have discussed it with you guys and Bumble Bee Engineering.....I am a visual learner, so I learn better when I see something rather than the words....BY THE WAY---The SKYLVIA in D-SPORT is one of the sweetest cars I have ever seen (as far as being what I would want, how I would want it done), and the inspiration for my current project car....Good job McKinney!

the engine is placed in the proper position to clear the steering. the down pipe is complicated by the steering rack and shaft but it can clear. The kit prices are on the web site... http://www.mckinneymotorsports.com Yes Underground is a dealer for our parts..

The mounts move the engine in some way. Im going to guess up to clear the shaft.. or maybe down. F it... Unless you want to invest over 20k in a 240... forget it.

the mckinney mounts will drop your motor down and bring it closer to the firewall so that the shifter sits in the whole properly. when you buy the mounts get the whole kit...including the drive shaft. the rb26dett can be placed into a 240 and you can keep the twins, my friend Chris riggs...owner of UM had an s14 with the rb26dett in it, saw it first hand. the mckinney downpipe is another great investment it will clear your steering rack and save you alot of time...they have already gone through the customizing time. also your going to want to upgrade your fuel pump, get a fuel pressure regulater and i know mack will tell you too, your going to want to get gauges oil pressure, boost, and such just to watch out for things. oh and don't forget to get the rb26 into your car your going to need a rb25det transmission and your going to been the rb25 oil pan, your going to need to modify this onto the rb26 because the transfer case for the front wheel drive is in the rb26 oil pan. hope that helps you a bit

Why not top-mount the twins? I mean, if you're going balls to the walls, why not? That way, you should be able to pipe the down pipes around the steering column and maintain a lower mount position.
