hey guys, im somewhat of a newbie to RB's. ive worked on sr's until im frankly sick of them. i love sr's but now almost every 240sx you see has one. i just picked up a 95 s14 for 1200 bucks and am about to start my rb swap. im getting a shop, NSPerformance in spartanburg sc to do the swap. everyone keepsa saying this is a 10g swap, and i can see how with a $4000 motor, labor, and bolt ons. i was wondering what all i needed to start this off right, im not looking to upgrade much yet, just a basic swap. im going to order the mckinney kit for mounts and driveshaft, but what about IC, bov, rad, fuel etc? what do you guys recommend that is best for the RB set up?

thanks for any help yall can give.

if your looking to swap the motor in and keep everything stock for now then id do a single walbro intank fuel pump, look around youtube and listen to some bovs and see which one ya like, get a basic fmic kit, go to a exhaust shop and get them to make ya a exhaust.

im sure mack from mckinney or carl h to do the wiring harness, id change the timing belt and water pump at least, good luck with the swap

Please refer to my sig...Also please note that its going to nickel and dime you to DEATH $10,000 is a good price for a correct rb26dett DIY swap. That's not with labor.Don't forget, with the rb26dett you also have to buy the RWD rb25 trans and weld the oil pan up.But if you don't mind paying the price, good luck. Furthermore, if someone would make a big smiley picture with a face palm and a search button that would be great...That is all.

make sure you take the car to a shop that can wire the engine...i am starting to get tired of looking at beyond hacked up engine harnesses.do your budgeting before you dive in...you'll find the numbers add up very quickly so dont expect to come out cheap.

10g may end up being a little conservative if you want stuff done correctly and working properly. I have an s14 with a 26 and theres is quite a bit of work involved. The stock radiator works just fine specially since its in the right position to line up with the 26 hoses. You could also save money on your cooling set up by making sure you get the motor as back far as possible to run the stock clutch fan. The 26 fan is very efficient. As mentioned by someone else in this thread the oil pan will need to be notched if you want to run the front sway bar and getting it not to leak is quite fun. You also need to be careful enough to still be able to use the dipstick. Take your time and don't waste money on unneeded stuff but also research and spend money where its needed. I'd be more then willing to answer any questions for you if you want just send me a pm.. :P
