PLEASE search, people wont spoon feed you all the information you want to know. and honestly if you have to ask some of these questions you dont need a RB26. if you are seriously willing to spend 8000+ on an engine swap you have to spend many hours of your own time looking stuff up.

ill answer 1 of your questions just so im not a complete ***

the RB26 is very reliable, no serious issues

the level of difficulty on install is very dependant on how adept you are with cars, tools and general autmotive knowledge. some people its impossible, some people its doable in a weekend if everything is in front of them.

PLEASE search.

Get the fUc out of here.

We don't spoon feed here. And you do not seem like a guy who can handle this type of swap.

Yes, please search these forums or just spend time going through the whole RB forum from beginning to end. The rb26 swap is nothing to take for granted. It will take a ton of money and time. If you are budget conscience, you may want to consider the rb25det instead. Here's a link to a decent price breakdown of an rb25 swap.

http://www.lightspeedperforman...t.htm

Consider it to be as much free info as people will give you without searching. Good luck with whatever swap you decide on.

why ask if you know you will be flamed? this question is asked literally once every 5-7 days. search around, read this forum and others and you will be able to figure it out.

if you need to ask such a generic question without doing any prior research, DONT do the swap.

Go buy a rb26. That way when you get stumped on the swap there will be more spare 26 parts for me to buy up. It is so hard to find 26 pars for good prices in the states. If you are the kind of guy that can fabricate things. There is allot to stuffing a rb26 in a 240sx. You better have 10K on hand to get it in and running. Who knows the condition of the used engine that you just spent 10k to swap. It has taken me 2 years to get mine running. Now Im building it for power. Rb26 parts are not cheap.

Well, it could have been worse. He could have started the thread "I have a '96 Civic, and yo, it's phat and all, but I want an RB26-powered S14 to go drifting, dragging, and auto-x'ing, dawg.

If you get stumped on thing I will always be here to buy up spare parts when you cant figure the swap out. It took me 3 months to figure out my wiring, I did it 3 years ago when there was no help at all for 26 swaps. You better get a repair book on rb26's and start reading. This is how I have done most of my swap. There is allot to this swap. Its not wam bam like a sr20 swap. I have a r33 block with a r32 wire harness as they are the easyest to wire. Dont go with a 25 pan as they are junk once you mod them to fit on the 26. This swap takes heela time to complete the right way.

wow.

you guys need to lighten up.

the rb26 swap is hardly any different than an rb25 or rb20 into a 240. the only difference is you need to bolt an rb25 RWD transmission to the 26, get custom turbo dump pipes made, and really thats about all, maybe custom motor mounts but i believe u can use the skyline x-member and motor mounts. wiring is about the same as all the rb-series engine.

he is just asking questions guys. nothing wrong with that. we were all newbees at one time.

that doesnt work at all. We have all said it before. if you want to cut corners this swap isnt going to work for you. ud better be willing to shell out a good 12 grand to get everything that you need.

You can tell he has not done a rb26 swap. If it was that easy everyone would have a 26 in and running. What about a oil pan, power steering, transmission mount if you use skyline x member, removing the differintial, and a drive shaft. 26's have a far diferent wire harness than a 25. I wish my swap was as easy as a 25 swap.

your right, i have never done an rb26 swap. but every swap comes with their problems.

power steering and custom driveshaft is a given with any rb swap.

i still dont think an rb26 swap is really too much harder than an rb20 or rb25 swap. if you can do an rb20 or rb25 yourself, you can surely do an rb26 swap.

i had to learn how to wire my rb20 into an s13 and an s14. the wiring was different on both cars, but with schematics you can put the 26 in just as easy.

im not here to argue. i just want to point out that any swap is going to have their problems. your just going to have to learn to make things work. and thats that.

That's what they all say.. "money isn't an issue".. or "I don't give a **** what you guys think about me"..

pfff. Get 'er done then! That's good to sit around and say, but untill you've completed it, it's worthless.

Talk to Venus about an engine setup. They will be the cheapest route.

http://www.venus-auto.com/give them a call. their site is rarely updated, they should do a 26 w/25 transmission deal and will hook you up with nething that isn't working, like sensors or whatever.good luck with your swap.

This is exactly what I mean.

Two seconds you could have searched and found their fuking site on google.

If you cannot do this, you do NOT have the dedication it will take to complete this swap.

Good luck. Set the example.
