I have received compression results from an importer of mine on a r32 rb26dett. Note that these compression results are from a cold motor so they may not be accurate. Tell me what you guys think.

These results are from the timing belt side to the transmission.

Cylinder 1: 170 psi

Cylinder 2: 155 psi

Cylinder 3: 155 psi

Cylinder 4: 175 psi

Cylinder 5: 170 psi

Cylinder 6: 180 psi

What are average compression results from rb26detts? Seems a bit low give or take 25 psi different on cylinder 2 & 3.

Just to give ya an idea, I got an 32 Rb26 with about 26k km and my compression was 180 179 179 180 180 180. Get a better check before buying. What is it goin into? Good luck.

hg might be weak/blown if the compression is low on 2 cyls like that...leak down is a more accurate measurement of the motor's health.

Yea I'm a bit worried about those 2 cylinders being a bit low. Others I've talked to say it seems fine since it's within limits but close to the limit. The importer says he has no equipment for a leakdown test. But rememeber, this was done to a cold motorset so I dont even know if these numbers are exactly true. Here are some pics of the motor. From the outside it looks fine but I don't want to buy the motor and find out it has a blown headgasket or something =\

That's a really cheap pallet.. wow.

Oh but the motor, looks fine.. chances are it'll run fine with those results. Cold compression checks pretty much amount to nothing other than to tell you that the cylinders will hold pressure.. which means the motor will likely run.

Thanks for the input fellas. Yea i've saved up enough to where i'll have some type of contingency plan just in case I need to rebuild.
