My son and I are swapping an RB26DETT into a 91 S13 and I am looking for information on getting the transmission AWD setup working, hopefully without the HICAS setup. How does that actuator on the back of the transmission work? and can it be engaged with the pump or does the PS pump need to be stripped of that secondary section and no fluid pumping to the actuator. Also is there any help or ideas for the Clutch Master cylinder, the GTR uses a vacuum booster on the cylinder and the S13 has no room for this. Is it really necessary or can the stock s13 master cylinder be used?. Thank you for any ideas

Are you trying to make your son's S13 AWD? It's really not woth the hassle, time and money involved. Just get an RB25DET transmission and get an oil pan from the same engine and have it modified to cover the hole that will exist from the front diferential. You won't have to worry about vaccum booster at that point.

It's still going to be a lot work, but nothing near as much if you were trying to go AWD.

Thanks for the advice, but I am going to forge ahead and continue with the awd swap. the engine, trans, rear suspension are all in the car, at this point we are only missing the driveshaft to the rear. and of course the finer points of hooking the electrics up and getting them to work.

Hi,yes it is converted, though we have not yet driven it to gauge the results. The front hub-spindle combination is a piece of work to re engineer. I bought it partially completed and this is one area that was done. if you want any ideas about the conversion just ask

an update for anyone interested in our swap project. We have the engine in and running, or at least started. We are in the midst of marrying the wiring harnesses and other plumbing. I hope to have the harnesses mostly married this weekend so it is running off the S13 harness. We have swapped out the brakes for the large GT32 calipers and ventilated rotors front and back. Still working on the power steering and the exhaust. I bought a supposedly converted down pipe for this swap, but only to find that it was only cobbled together and the forward turbo dump comes out directly into the input shaft for the rack. So that is a troublesome step yet to be overcome. I think I have the AWD setup figured out. I find that the Attessa controller has a pressure sending switch on it, as the Skyline gauge set has a gauge for determining the front torque, so I figure it will be straightforward to put a small electric hydraulic pump somewhere with a pressure control switch, and gauge the pressure via the gauge torque control meter. I hope anyway. Well more later, as we get it further along
