I am currently considering buying a RB26DE-TT motor for a project car. I am putting the motor in a Mid-engine Fiero chassis and am wondering about some worries i have about transmission safety.

This engine is AWD, So i was going to use the fromt wheel output trans-axles for the drives, and put the engine in backwards. My concern about this is:

1. Will the fact that there is no rear driveshaft screw up the ECU and transmission, and fry the transmission because it is trying to adjust for the 'slipping' it thinks is happening?

I know that AWD cars are EXTREMELY touchy about having the same Everything at all 4 tires (I own a 2005 Subaru Impreza), and I knw that even if air pressure is a little low it can heat up the transmission and rear pumpkin because the tires are not spinning at the same rate. I am just worried that i will fry the transmission or get robbed of power because the ECU (might have) traction control? So please help me, I appreciate any info.

Thanks.

The GTR 4WD system is 100% rear biased (in early models) unless it senses traction loss then it can put up to 50% to the front. If you really want to use this motor investigate alternate tranmission options.
