RB26 transmission in an S14?

alot of the shops up here in Canada are starting to order the RB26dett motors with RB26 transmission. I'm pretty sure that you would need a RB25 transmission because the RB26 is allwheel drive. So is it possible to use the RB26 transmission in a 240sx or are these shops trying to sell us a transmission we can't use and make us find an rb25 one?

i have seen one on a s13 fastback...i don't see why not on an s14. i think there were some cutting etc....

Not trying to be rude.. more less just trying give you an idea of how to use your own mind to calculate and deduct answers before you ask the questions.

Look at the RB26 transmission. You see the transfer case for the 4wd? Do 240sx's have 4wd? No. So is it going to interfere with the chassis? Yes. Have you looked under your car lately? Hmmm. These shops are doing custom work if they're using it.

They sell the whole clips because they are either too lazy to remove the transmissions from the clips, or because they can jack the price of the clip higher because it's considered "complete"..

I personally run an rb26 transmission in my s13, and I am doing another swap into a datsun using the awd transmission, yes there is fab work to make it work but in my oppinion it is worth it because the rb26 transmission is very strong. especially ran in rwd, the main weakness in those in actually the input shaft, it shears off and then proceeds to chew up the internals. I have a friend here in the US who ran his stock rb26 transmission to 780awhp until the input shaft shredded.

A local shop uses an RB26 transmission in an S13 Silvia, it runs 10s up in mainland. They hacked off the transfer cases kickout and welded a plate over the hole. It's long and I don't know why they did it but it works.
