hey
i'm doing an rb26 into an s13-s14, looks like i will be using the mckinney mounts..
so far it seem like a good deal would be buying the whole RB26 swap including the awd transmission..
my quesion is, will the RB26 transmission fit right where the shifter hole is..? or it is to long..? and i have to cut the old one..?
modding the awd transmission is not a problem as i work at a shop..and i relize the rear mckinney transmission mount cant be use as its for an rb25 transmission...
i dont wanna mod anything in the interior panels..and its prob. gonna look ghetto..thanks for the help..

you ever seen a RB26 trans?
its ginormous.
you will have to pound a rather large space for the transfer to the front diff as its built into the trans.
its eaiser to just buy a RB25 trans. the 26 is by no means a cheap swap, and adding a 25 trans is a drop in the bucket.
ps this could have easily been fund by searching, please search in the future.

the AWD transmission will be modded. to fit..i'm not cutting anything on the car for the transfer case to fit..ive seen some picts of ppl on here cutting and welding it..
it will be cut and welded the same way..getting rid of the transfer case..and the oil pand will be mod to fit as well..
i'm just concern about the lenght if the transmission..if the shifter is to long and it wont fit into the hole in the chassis?
basically i just wanna know the lenght and where the shifter is for both trannies..

Like he said, try searching. If you look hard enough, you'll see a thread (sitting right above this one at the moment) about using the RB26 box.
btw, this ain't no transmission... it's a huge box of gears.
If you were to use it, you'd need to cut the transfer case off the side and seal it with a plate.
I'd like to see more people using the RB26 box.. but personally, I'll be using the RB25DET's gearbox to save myself the trouble.
