hi there,

i just picked up a 92 silvia w/ a rb26 from japan and it has some problems overheating.

just driving in town nicely, my engine temp goes up to 95*C, but my rad is not hot at all. i can pull off my rad cap without it spewing all over the place, but the engine is radiating heat.

im pretty sure the thermostat is stuck closed, but the problem is i dont know where it is lol.

could someone help me out?

tnx in advance

look at your radiator. locate the lower radiator hose. follow it to the engine. it'll lead you to a inlet pipe that has a 3 bolt flange that bolts to the engine block. behind those 3 bolts you'll find your answer.

They were probably having the same overheating problems you are and either (a) were trouble shooting or (b) thought it would cool better with out a T-stat
