So I accidentally dropped my new rb26dett OEM tensioner on the ground causing a minute chip on the end of the pulley. I know I could have still used it but I was anal and bought a new one. I had that new tensioner for probably 2 years and I bought it from http://www.nismoparts.com. I ordered a brand new tensioner from the same place last week. Today the tensioner came in and I noticed that it looked alot different. The size is the same but the inner part of the pulley is black vs. silver like my old one. I think that Nissan upgraded their rb26 oem tensioner to a hardened steel. On the new tensioner, there is a lip on the rear cylinder piece that the old one doesn't have. Both part numbers are the same so technically both should be oem rb26dett tensioner pulleys. Part number on both is 13070-42L00. I have attached pics of the both tensioners and the new one installed. It also seems like the seal on the new one is made by "NTN" vs the other one which is made by "NSK". You guys seen this before?

nissan has a habit of changing the design of parts while keeping the same part number...i wouldnt worry about it.
