Hey guys, I have been on the forums for a while and have had an sr20 for around 2 years. The sr20 is fun and all but I have decided its time for an RB. I have been researching the RB25 series 2 and Neo for a while but just found what could be a great deal. I know a guy who has a rb26dett in his s14 and he is looking to sell the setup but he wants me to make an offer. I would be getting his whole swap, everything needed for it to get going. Here is what it has: Rb26dett engine w/ Rb25det trannyFully converted 240sx/rb26 wiring harness from THPECUDriveshaft Shop DriveshaftTHP Motor and transmission mounts for rb26 in 240sxstage 3 clutchCustom Oil PanCustom Greddy Style Oil Catch CanHKS BOVNew beltsNew Spark PlugsCustom Intercooler Pipings for Front Mount Int.greddy clear timing belt coverNew Clutch Slave CylinderCustom Rb26dett GTR oil Pan(not a rb25det oil pan)

Motor has about almost 60000 milesPowersteeringAlternatorTwin TurbosITB'sdownpipeA/c but not installedand more.

What do you guys think would be a good offer for this setup. I was thinking of offering $7k. Thanks -Max

My .02, its not a steal by any means. But it seems fair.

well its by far no steal...the wiring harness isnt gonna work in your s13.your gonna have to get that taken care of. only thing your gaining is a 1 peice drive shaft and mounts.... i would rather have a rb25 oil pan than a rigged up rb 26 pan... i think 7k is to much for it you can get the rb26 engine set for around 3500 then pick up a 300zx trans for 300...then buy some mounts and wire it yourself

Oops forgot to say that I am putting this into a 1998 240sx. Also the rb26dett swap is completed and running in his car so I would get the motor, mounts, radiator, fmic, dps, bov, intakes, and the other miscellaneous parts to complete the swap.

well since you can hear it run and drive it get it.. you can get everything and do the swap your self for less but you wont hear it run first...

Ive been trying to find all the necessary parts for a rb26 swap for under 7k but I usually end up calculating the swap to be around 8.5-9k and having experience with other swaps I can add another 1k for the miscellaneous things that come up along the way. Either way i am looking forward to becoming a member of the RB society Thanks for the feedback so far.

Well, back in the day when I did my swap, it cost me about $8700 from start to finish on my stock RB26 swap. Again, this was a little over 5 years ago. So, I think that it is a semi-fair deal. I would see if you could just simply throw, say $6000, cash in front of his face and see if he takes it.
