rb26 speedo issue (have done search)

i took out my car last night to do some tuning and to see if anything was wrong , and i found that my speedo only goes up to 35km/hr (3rd gear @6500rpm), it gave me the same reading on my avcr also, has anybody had the same issue with thier s13 ? its an s13 w/rb26dett and rb25 transmission

Do you still have the stock speedo? You either need to get it recalibrated or get the speedo from a GT-R.

If you are using the S13 cluster and it is wired correctly, you can pick one of these solutions:

1: modify your speedo (search for speedo and you should find more topics than you care to read on converting it)

2: buy the lsauto gauge that is already converted for you. (this what I did)

If you are using the RB26 cluster, it may just be that the sending unit that is in the RB26 transmission has more/less teeth than the 25 transmission, thus sending a different signal to your gauge. If that is the case then you will have to recalibrate your gauge, which unfortunately I have never seen anyone discuss on here for the 26 cluster, or switch back to the S13 cluster and follow my above info.
