Ok, I am down to the last few things here on the engine.

I have noticed that the stock RB26 spark plugs are the NGK PFR6A-11. They are the double platinum series plugs, and at $11.50 a plug, it hurts to buy 6.

From my previous experience with turbo Nissans, my 96' 400HP Nissan Maxima, we ALWAYS used the copper series NGK plugs. There were a few reasons why, such as stronger spark, cost, no pre-detonation, etc.

Now, that I can figure, the NGK Copper plugs I would need are the BKR6E-11, is this correct? And if I wanted to go a step colder I could go for BKR7E-11? Does this sound about right to everyone?

And would I see any negative effects with going to the copper plugs, other than mileage?

Thanks all.

it's no need to spend $11 each on the platinums....just buy the $2ea NGK 3330 (BCPR7ES) it's pregapped. that's what i'm using on my RB with no problem. all the supra guys i know uses them and have no problem with high boost.

So Jon, are these the right plugs that I mentioned? Even down to the right part number? These are the same plugs that the 300zx TT guys use, as I bought these for my turbo Maxima. Thanks again.

I buy the NGK V-Power copper plugs for the 94 300ZX TT whenever I order for Rb25...I believe the RB26 is the same.

stock plugs on the 300ZX is PFR5B-11B. One step colder would be a 6, but they don't make this exact plug in a 6 heat range. We run into problems with these special design plugs(plugs with A,B,C letters after the heat range) as NGK doesn't specify what exactly is special or different about them. I would recommend calling NGK's tech at 877-473-6767, Jon is at menu option#2, and then #2 again.

Hey Sparkplugs.com

I had a 1996 Nissan Maxima, with the 3.0 liter VQ motor in it, using a T4/T04E Supershaft Ball-Bearing turbo. We always used the BKR6E-11 NGK Copper plugs for turbo and supercharger applications on boosted Maximas. These plugs have proved themselves time in and time out at http://www.maxima.org.

If JonPowell purchased the V-Power NGK Copper plugs for the 1994 300zx TT, then the part number that he purchased is BKR6E-11, which is identical to the plugs we used on the Maxima for charged-air applications. And step colder will be BKR7E-11. Any of this info sound incorrect to you? Thanks for the help guys....

Ok, I called NGK's tech line.

Stock plugs on the RB26DETT motor are the NGK PFR6A-11 Double Platinums. This means that the same plugs in the NGK Copper series are the BKR6E-11 plugs, and the BKR7E-11 plugs being one step colder. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!1

At around $2.25 a plug, you can't go wrong......

go with the 7 series, as they are colder and better for boost. The 11 in the NKG part number signifies 1.1mm gap. so you would need to regap them for the rb.

However, the plug gap for the stock PFR6A-11 NGK plugs is already 1.1mm correct?

I have already planned on re-gapping them to around .038" or .039" anyways, as I have no real power adders as of yet on the engine, and probably won't for a while.....

BLAH!!!!!

I don't use autolites on any of my cars, and never will.

Autolites are mainly used on domestic cars anyways. I only use NGKs.

I ordered my RB20 from Venus, and it came with NGK Platinum PFR5A-11.

I picked up some BKR6ES-11 as well, since I can get them for >2 bucks each.
