any one know who sells top mount single turbo manifolds for a rb26 that doesnt cost $1500+?

all the places i see for single turbo manifolds want a rediculus amount of money for them. they also sit the turbo further back toward the firewall than id like.

i was thinking about a jgs style manifold, but i wouldnt be comfortable with a log style since im not centering the turbo on the mani.

any places you guys know of?

just trying to avoid custom work. theres a chance that the twins will fit, im just exploring other options.

with the turbos i want to use, the stock ic piping will not bolt up to them, and the skyline downpipes and exhaust will not bolt up either. the equivalent bolt on HKS kit is $3200.

i figure if im going to have to do full ic piping, downpipes, front pipe and exhaust, i might as well go single turbo and simplify the whole procedure.

i dunno man, custom DP and IC piping shouldnt cost much more than 1500$ at the M O S T

we are talking overpriced gouging for the custom downpipe.

a manifold and big single [60-65 lb-min] ball bearing is most likely gonna run me more than its worth.

i was just running over options, and its probably not worth it considering the manifold, the turbo, the wastegate blah blah blah...

the thought of a big polished top mounted single made me start a useless thread.

ill know for sure when i can get down to brooklyn to look at the VG30DETT J30 they have there. the turbos are in a better position on the rb than on the vg, so ill know for sure when i look at the vgtt J30.

send me the stock manifold, i could work out building you a top mount single turbo, stainless steel equal-length tubular manifold.

i forgot about this thread. i was supposed to look at the J30 turbo [VG30DETT] in the city, but the people who have it were being shady about me comming to look at it. the guy who built it is never around when im available [after 4].

datsun, im not to far from brewster. i love 684, its like my personal raceway. im right off of the hutch, i live in harrison.

since i got my license back, my old job's insurance might accept me on their policy again, which would mean this project is 100% on for this summer. [yeah!!!]

if the downpipe on the rear turbo will clear the steering shaft, im keeping it twin. im most likely going to try to aquire a used set of hks gt2530's, apexi or jun divorced downpipes, and an apexi gt front pipe to a custom 3.5" exhaust.

once the car is finished towards the end of the summer, were gonna turn 684 into westchester county raceway. [just kidding, NYSP]

if i do internals on the RB, then its definately going single. [ i have to see how the car handles it. makes no sense to go above what the stock motor will put out if im breaking axles and whatnot.]
