rb26 running without c.a.s.

hi, just bought a 95 240 with rb26 swap already done(i know i should've done the swap myself but the price was too hard to turn down), but any ways i noticed that there is no cas installed. it seems to run fine but i was wondering do i need to put a cas on it? thanks

what? thats not possible unless it has a trigger wheel with an aftermarket ECU. otherwise it has NO way in knowing its rpm, therefore no injectors or spark plugs would be fired. CAS is on the cam gear cover exhaust side.

yup, i know what the cas is. it is an aftermarket ecu and it seems to run fine. i was just wondering if anyone has heard of this.

CAS = crank angle sensor. Might help if you knew what you were talking about. the CAS is in the front of your engine. I connects to the cam.

look at your crank pulley and look for a trigger wheel attached to it and an external pickup. thats your aftermarket CAS (crank angle sensor), so no you don't need the factory CAS (cam angle sensor)

ya my haltech has this option with a magnet or some **** sux cuz i need a cas PLUG with pigtail to wire mine in....
