RB26 progress (pics)

Haven't posted much info on the progress of my motor. It's a 97 GTR motor. Basically me and my friend stripped the block bare and cleaned everything including the turbos. Also painted the block grey. Overall we spent about 2 full nights on this.

These pics were taken with my cell phone so I appologize for their poo quality.

If there's any questions as far as specifics on how we cleaned things I'll be glad to answer. For the turbos I'll just go ahead and say - we dissasembled them and hot tanked the housings. For the center section we put the bearing housing on a vise and spun the turbine with a socket on a drill while shooting lubricant/cleaner through it. Worked suprisingly well!

It's a really fun motor to work on I'll say that. Just doesn't compare to a 4 cylinder alluminum honda motor =p

I still need to get a timing belt for it. I should be getting the car within 3 months.. it's taking me forever because of school/girlfriend/work/moving out etc. My goal is to have it running by christmas.. I'm in no hurry right now.
