Sorry for multiple threads in such a short time, but i am kinda curious about this....

My oil temp never goes above 80*C (176*F) even on hot days and boosting (Only 5 psi for my break in).

is this normal? or is it running too cold. The temp should raise when i tune for more boost right?

I have a Trust oil cooler, as well as a filter relocation to a high air flow area underneath the car.

So basically my question is, what is the ideal operating temp for oil in the RB26?

Thanks again for the help

does your oil cooler adapter have a thermostat built in? Did you get rid of the factory water to oil cooler?

The "normal" operating temperature is probably around 200 F. 240 F is probably when oil is starting to get hot. If you're not tracking the car you should not get close to those temps.

my oil thermostat is in a GREX sandwich plate that splits off my filter relocation and oil cooler.

I contacted royal purple and they said it was a low temp, but that it was still alright to be driving at the temp
The car is a summer daily driver with a few track days a season. I dont think i am going to worry about it.
Cool is always good :P
