Hey guys im assembling mye engine and ive done alot of research and have came up with tomei makes the best oil pump apart from a dry sump system. With involving price which is better the car is going to be a weekend car drift drag and the occasionally my only problems is which is better for my engine. It is going to be in the 8-900hp range my only real concern is driving it around town and the belt snapping on the dry sump ive never had one before so idk if there strictly for the track or not
Any positive input would be helpful

900whp 26?

not exactly a daily driver...nor cheap.

plenty of race cars run dry sump with an external belt drive pump...its like any other belt its not going to break unless its installed improperly or old.
assuming you're actually going to make 900wheel (which is over a thousand crank) then you should be running an ems capable of engine protection with sensor inputs for vitals such as oil pressure.

drys sump will eliminate any and all oiling issues with the motor but will be another 4-5k in parts to get it working properly.

id sell the rb and put a 2j in your car, having a 600+rwhp rb is a pita, lol its a money pit trying to fix the factory flaws in this engines design

Yeah i thought about putting a 2j in it but everyone and there mother is doing 1j and 2jz id wanted keep it nissan i have 2 friends that have supras and all day long i hear the s*** talking so id like to put them in there place. Ive seen a couple used dry sump kits forsale around 2000 doesnt seem bad im going to kick it around on which one im going to get
The tomei pump is pretty beefy looking but everyone says the dry sump does wonders for the rb well see i guess thanks for the info tho

well their doing it for a reason bro, u want to be original do a 4g63rwd swap into an s13, they make more power then a 2jz and alot cheaper, ive had most almost all of the top jdm engines and the rb is by far the most expensive 1 to keep runing and to upgrade, dont know why i still have my skyline lol if i could take all the money back i spent on my rb's id buy a 2jz and put it into my skyline, their is also another option which for me was the most viable but i got lazy and just bought the tomei pump, u can run a single stage external oil pump and have it fed into your oil pump carcass a budy of mine in australia has his setup like that, basically you tap into your oil pan then get a line to your single stage oilpump, then take out the guts of your oil pump and run a line from the single stage oil pump to the gutted oem pump and basically just use it to carry the oil to the rest of the engine, much much cheaper then goin full drysump i can draw it in crayon if u didnt understand

If you had a diagram of it that would help but that sounds like a good opinion. I already have most.of.the parts fully built bottom end for under 2500 its not as expensive as doing a 2j swap for me atleast
