Help! I'm a totally non-mechanic person and my R32 GTR won't start all of a sudden:

Anyone who has an idea, please help.

Ok....summary of situation: Car ran fine, started right up every time. Car wasn't turned for a week, over the course the 3-day freezing rain storm. (Don't have a garage, so car was under a carport, with a water-proof cover.)Started car up and drove it to see about getting an alignment, no problems with motor but noticed that radiator had developed a leak.

Car sat for another week. Started it up, idled and ran really rough, like one or two cylinders were misfiring. Shut it down.

Now it won't start at all. Cranks real strong, but sounds like nothing is firing. Checked plugs and they're all wet, so it's getting fuel. Could the ignition module have gone out just from the cold?

Is there anyway to check? I'm clueless here.

my car does this **** if i dont warm it up. one time it sat there and misfired for 20 minutes till everything burned off.

clean or replace your spark plugs, start it, LET IT WARM UP then go rip around the block and shut her down.

cold starts and stops are not the friend of your RB.

*sigh*Gotta be able to start it the first time...I think I need to pull the plugs out, clean them (even though their brand new), then get the air hose and blow out the cylinders...I think by this point I've probably flooded.

I pulled the plugs out, put them in the coils, grounded them and checked for spark...looks good as far as I can tell. Then after I put them back in, it acted like it was going to start, but didn't.

I tried some of that ether-based engine start stuff (both putting some in the intakes and then pulled the hose to the intake manifold and sprayed some directly into there). No difference at all.

And I was supposed to be putting it in a local open-house/car-show tomorrow.

you gotta dry everything out inside its just flooded now.

pull the plugs out overnight, clean them with some carb cleaner and let them dry also overnight. tommrow AM reassemble everything

it should normally start first try but those cold starts and not running it when it was missfiring made it worse.

All it takes is one corroded sensor plug and you'll be fighting it until you discover which one it is. Sounds to me like moisture has crept into one of the sensor connectors somewhere. Check the MAF, coolant temp sensor, etc. for moisture or corrosion....

I'll give that a shot.Up until it wouldn't start, it always started right up immediately...never any hesitation; just good strong start. *sigh*

*meep*Ok, I guess I need to search around for all these. I know I wanted to learn more about the motor, but not quite this way.

Update: It's alive!

Ok, did the thing of pulling and cleaning the plugs and let the motor sit open all night.I also swapped the coils around to different positions and checked the harness to make sure no bad wires.

Put it back in this morning, fired right up!

Thanks to everyone, I *REALLY* appreciate it!

I was having the same problem. Turns out mine was being caused by bad plugs. I replaced the fuel pump before I discovered that.
