Guys

I got a chance to get over to the car tonight and see how the manifold fits up. There are a few small fitment issues, but I dont believe that I need to rule using this manifold out of the picture. We still havent finished the motor mounts yet, and it may be a little while longer until we do, because this manifold has complicated things sligthly. We belive by dropping the crossmember just a little bit more, along with shaving some material off the botom side of the hood, will get the job done. The exhaust housing clears the location no sweat, its just that bigass compressor thats the issue....

Here goes nothing

As for the compressor housing outlet, we're going to cut it off at the 3" diamater section (the outlet has a 3.5" vband) this is very common among supra owners and is exactly what full-race did with their gt42 rb26 240 as well.

Cheers

welding on a sharp radius 90deg elbow definately help in this case

Project looks nice! Keep us updated!

Question for you though. The OS Giken clutch you are using, is this for an RB26 or an RB25?

Unsure what it actually is for, but my guess is for an RB26 considering thats what I came installed on....

I assume you mean for the compressor outlet, like I said, we're going to cut the compressor off where its actually 3" instead of 3.5 (thats what it is at the v-band) Then we're going to figure out where exactly it will run

Okay, cool. Then I have a related question for you. What are you going to do about the starter? The RB26 flywheel is 5mm larger in radius. It will work, but it kind of sounds like it binds a little bit or isn't as smooth as it should be. Have you thought about moving the starter a bit to compensate for the larger flywheel?

If the RB26 ring gear has a 5mm larger radius. Then is there any room to stick some washers or make some spacers 2.5mm thick????

For clearance your sending the manifold back to Full race??? Or are you gonna start chopping your Z apart??

Keep in mind the motor is going to lean with it and rock with it. (LOL hate that song)

Not if its solid mounted

Regarding the starter and the cltuch, I'm not really sure what kjlindgr is asking. The RB26 and RB25 bell housings are identical. The starter I received was from the RB26 motorset, and the clutch came off the same motorset, which was all working before it was removed from the car. Theoretically I'm changing absolutely nothing from the GTR setup....

Oh ok gotcha.

Why do you think the IC is going to be a problem??

He's going to chop up that turbo then weld a pipe like the R14.

Just looks like no V-mount for you!!! lol

why chop it and just run a Vibrant 90 degree elbow? simplicity and function.

look closely, the V-band is angled into the fender.

Either that of slap another T4 flange and some gaskets on the beyatch and hopefully you'll have enough room to vband it.

Why run a 90 degree v-band 3.5" elbow when I'm running 3" IC piping?

It only makes sense to chop the compressor off

I think im retarded..... should have said chop it.. obviously the v-band flange is in the way and would be impossible to slip a coupler over it.... I shouldn't post when I wake up. thinking one thing.. typing another. o.O

looking good thus far but why is your 2.3k$ ss manifold rusting?

I suppose there will always be someone with a negative outlook on anything, but this is a manifold thats been made for some-time now, and installed on a running car. This manifold came DIRECTLY off of Full-Race's Project R14 just last week and straight to my door. They wanted to make sure that the fitment was close for this application w/out having to completely re-do it. My manifold should be finished up this week.

Hey,Does full race do custom work??How much is a Custom manifold??

Why didn't you just get one that is made to fit your Z? Instead of a mani that fits the motor and another chassis?

The motor is now in its final resting place. We had to drop the cross member and notch the framerails slightly. The rigidity of the framerail is not compromised, and everything clears! Here's where it will set....

None of the body panels are secured well so thats why everything doesnt fit 100%
