Hey everyone, new to the forum what up!!

Have a GTR with RB26, previous owner had boost controller installed and apparently hit 28 pounds of boost on the stock motor and now cylinder 6 has barely any compression so I bought the car for dirt cheap.

Had a compression test here's the results:

1: 135
2: 135
3: 135
4: 135
5: 135
6: 15

Car has barely any power at all, won't even hit boost. Oil spits out of the dipstick as well. When downshifting, blue smoke pours out of the exhaust at higher rpm's.

I'm guessing it's not the head gasket 'cause there's no coolant in the oil, so would it be rings? and if so how much of a b**** is it to do? I know I have to rip the motor out and tear it down. Should i just get a new motor?

One more question, if the car were to be driven how it is, would it make it any worse if i were to drive it like a grandma?

Any feedback is appreciated, thank you!

If I am right, driving it would be the worst thing you could do if the engine is salvageable at this point. Don't run it anymore until you can tear it down. It still may be ok, as in, cylinder walls are not heavily gauged and it can be bored/honed out.

Thanks for the response. I'm just gonna drive it until it completely s*** the bed and buy a new motor for it. By the time the motor is out of the shop, bored/honed with new rings and s*** the shop bill will be near the same amount as a motor/transmission. I'd do it myself but I don't have the proper tools in my possession
