Ok I have been doing some reaserch for quite a while on this swap, but I want addvice from the guys that have done it. First off I have seen alot on cutting and grinding up your rb26 oil pan and NOT going with the rb25 pan. I have seen were some people cut out part of the pan and then people will just grind parts. And ya welding the front part of the AWD shut. What needs done here for sure. Another question that I have talked to my local forum place is the front drive pulley being modified from a rb26 part to the rb25 for clearance and room issues. True or not? Any other problems you come in contact with would be nice to fill me in on i would love to know. I have dome a bunch of research so dont tell me to go to google blah blah blah. Lol some true help guys

NEVER CUT A DAMPNER, ignore who ever told you that, and search on modding the 26 oil pan!

For the differences in the balancers...http://blog.rawbrokerage.com/2....aspx

As seen the 26 balancer is a bit taller which causes you to lose some clearance between the radiator.

If switching the balancer to a 25 balancer you'll need to either match it up with a RB25 power steering pump and bracket or modify your current mounting bracket to allow proper alignment.

Oil pan you'll need to remove the front propeller shaft that runs through the pan and out the other side and cut that flange off along with removing the guts of the front diff and cutting it's casing off. Grinding down those jagged edges will be needed as there will be a lot of unnecessary cast aluminum hanging around. Freeze plug the openings and weld them shut. Be prepared as welding cast aluminum is not for the beginner.

Depending on the mounting position you might need to take some material off the front of the sump where it would foul against the sway bar. Pictures of all this has been documented just have to search through it all.

Ya i have seen alot of modified oil pans ill just have to look at more pans. Also do you think ill have to modify the front drive pulley or what. If I dont have to change it I dont want to. I would rather keep all rb26 parts on it.

25 pans are a dime a dozen why go through all the hassle.

Ya I am just going to modify the rb26 pan. Just figure out exactly what needs to happen then stick with it.
