hey nico!

gotta quick question, im about to be installing my good old r32 rb26 into a r32 gtst.

the question i have is.....

will i be able to unbolt the r32 rb20det ac compressor and bracket and the power steering pump and its bracket and bolt them on to the r32 rb26 block, will this work or are is the block/ brackets drilled differently in between a rb20 and a rb26.

Cheers, tom

im not sure if this is quite the answer to you question but im in the process of an rb25 swap. buddy of mine wanted to cop my ac lines out of my 240 so he could attempt to ac his rb20 s13. he pull my bracket and compressor off and compared the rb20 and rb25 and i noticed that the brackets the are identical. which adds to the spectulation that all rbs have pretty much the same mounting holes on the block. as far as accessories and motor mount brackets go. motor mount brackets are the same on all three. i have an rb20 oil distribution block on my 25 so the were the same. even the power steering looked the same bc my buddies with rb20s were jealous of my NON hicas rb25 ps pump so of course the compared the two in attempts to talk me out of putting it in and giving it to them. there is a VERY good chance that the rb20 and rb26 have the same AC compressor brackets, worth just bolting it, dropping it in, and attempting to fit it. good luck. friend of mine has an r32 gtr that he had contemplated putting the awd rb20 in. kinda the opposite of your swap :rotfl

im hoping so. if so itd be awsome!

the mounts are different between the 20/26

i eliminated the factory liquid/liquid oil cooler, ordered the fitting to bolt my grex oil filter relocation kit straight to the block.

dont do the awd 20, not worth a damn in my opinion on a awd car..

what mounts? engine, or ac? i thought mount kits covered all three engines.

i wanted to do the whole oil cooler thing too because my engine was damaged during shipping. and snapped off the oil filter. just trying to get it running and i had the 20 oil block sitting around that got rid of the oil cooler. figured it would help with over heating problems rb swaps have.

awd rb20 was just thrown up in the air because jei (our importer) had one. he's selling his rhd s14 to buy the built rb26 that my buddy has sitting around collecting dust.

good luck
