Check this post from a day or two ago....

http://www.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=89928

So... $4200 shipped (which is the most awesome price I have ever seen on an RB26dett + RB25det transmission.. and lots of extras...

Add probably another $1000 in parts (2 MAFS, exhaust, FMIC, etc.. )...Add $1650 to McKinney Motor Sports for the custom motor mounts, driveshaft, and downpipe.

Once you have all that.. the install is not really that hard. You could probably find some folks to help you. I bet you could find a pro to do it for $1500 or so?

SO.... I'd say $8350... call it $8500 to be conservative.

But, again.. if you can find some help with install or do it yourself... you might be able to pull off the project for $7000

That is a good deal and I dought others could be be found that cheap. The cost will be more like 8-10000 if you do it your self and get what you need to help the 26 heat issue. You are looking at 10000+ for a pro install worth a crap. The 26 is a mean motor but a costly swap, not one for someone if they are on a tight budget. As most of the RB guys know a stock install does not come trouble free and parts need changed most of the time. Parts cost money and sometimes alot of time waiting on them.

Just remember that is for 26 with 25 transmission, not a AWD setup. The AWD setup is the one where people talk about the price being crazy. I have yet to see someone actually do it.

Unless you get a hook up with a good price due to demand now 25's go for around 3500 (give or take some) 26's for 4-6500. Then with the 26 you need the 25 transmission 500-1000, 25 oil pan (modified) custom down pipe to keep the twins, or upgrade to a single (big bucks), find a way to keep it cool (26 runs warm), front mount, what you need to mount it(however you choose(install kit 1100 unless ther is one cheaper that works???), make the power steering work, wiring service or do it your self. and this does not count for everything. Now with just some of the things I listed and off of the top of my head parts needed its easily 10000 for a 26 install if you do it your self. Now if you do a bone stock install you using stock everthing you can from a 26 clip you might save some money.
