I have a buddy of mine that has an s13 with the rb26 swap and has ignition problems once he gets past to 19 or more pounds...

He is running on stock ignition and has gapped DOWN the plugs so that he could go past 16 psi but once he gets to ~19 or more, it starts up again.

What options does he have ignition wise to cure this..??

What turbo/s? What engine/fuel management? Who's doing the tuning?

What size injectors? What plugs? What gap? What intercooler?

What THE HELL.

If you have all of that crap in another post... then forgive people for not searching just so they could help you out on this question.

Your friend sounds like he's too focused on the ignition..

Because its SIMPLE, the ignition is his problem, and he doesnt know what he can use to upgrade it since its not ur normal coil type distributor.

Thats answer tells us nothing about his setup. To answer the question we need to know what he is running. What computer does he have? Is he controling the fuel/timing maps? HKS has a high performance ign box that can be used to help with the spark.

He asked for igniton advice why is it so hard to give him it?1) split fire makes pnp coils2) HKS DLI is what most supra guys use3) GM LS1 coils are what some supra guys are using now in conjuction with the a ECU that can control dwell.

ok kiddies lets take the intensity down a few notches.

rn240sx they are trying to help your problem. while you may be asking a specific question they are trying to help troubleshoot it because it might be more than just an ignition problem. thats why were asking for the rest of the info on the car.

I get it. You're being vague.. and now you're mad about it. Makes perfect sense.

You have no information on his setup.. and you asked us about what would help 'cure' his problem..

Well... I'm not gonna be suprised if he upgrades the ignition and finds out it didn't cure his problem. There could be other factors involved.. and if you've considered them already then good, but you did not tell us anything. Don't expect us to help you unless you're telling us what's been considered already.

If you wanted ignition upgrade recommendation because you guys KNOW it's an ignition problem, then simply ask for that. We do not know whether it's just an ignition problem, so the majority of people who answer, like me, are gonna ask questions.

Afterall, we're behind computers.. we're not standing next to the car seeing **** first hand.

Post the whole setup, and we can go from there. I have an RB26 too, and have tuned several of them.

What plugs is he using?
