RB26 identification

is it possible to identify if an rb26 came from an R32 or an R33???

like an engine stamp or anything?

im helping my buddy throw one into his mx6 (dont ask, but its alot of fun), and we wanna make sure we are getting one from an R33 since the guy selling it doesnt know which car it came from.

Post up some pics, I can most likely tell you. If the harness is complete and on the motor, there is a gray plug by the FPR that came on the R33 only. The trans bell housing on a later R32/33 has the two black rubber vents at the 2 o clock and 10 o clock position. The R32 power steering pump is different on the R32. The R33 has curved fan blades?

as well as the fuel rails are slightly different between the two.

the coil cover and front cover is abs plastic on the later years rather than metal, or vice versa. Someone may be able to verify.

-cooling clutch fan are different looking between r32 and r33-p/s pumps on r33 are not hicas so they are different looking from r32-on r33s, the knock sensor harness plug is a light gray plug located on top fo the fuelrail and r32s do not have this.

thats about all i can think of.

that looks to be a r33 motor due to the grey plug on top. good find, definitely a keeper
