Hi there, can anyone tell me why there is such a large hump in the exh ports at the gasket area on the 26 head? It is kinda strange that only one port in each bank has this rather large obstruction.

Can it be taken out without harming anything....??

no idea but ill bet its important.

like those little humps and cuts on the inside of some intake manifolds, they make the air do diffrent things so it flows better.

damn mechanical engineers... ;)

Sorry I guess I'm late, yeah you can remove that extra crap. I believe its there for the stud. But I've ported more then one RB head and removed that material on every one of them, the studs never had any troubles and the power always went up.

I hogged the hell out of one of my heads, I lost some off boost power do to air velocity problems, but made up for on boost. But the turbo I was using didn't spool till 5000 anyway, so the motor was all top end power reguardless.
