About time I got around to doing one of these posts... almost ready for assembly!

Got my engine parts back from the machine shop last week. Overbored to 87mm, honed, crank straightened/polished, oem rods shot peened, ARP rod bolts fitted, head back to spec, everything balanced. Got my bearings in today (nismo). Here are some pics of my engine parts, and a bunch of nismo goodies. mostly bearings, thermostat, hardened pivot ball, and new transmission front cover (need it to convert from pull to push type).

any tips for the assembly process? comments/suggestions appreciated! if the pics dont show, just refresh a few times... my webspace kinda sucks.

What is this going in? What kind of oil pump are you using. We chose for stock bearings. I have carillo je bottom end with arp main/head bolts. Every thing is polished and blueprinted. I have jun oil pump(less than hks but just as good). I am still thinking of upgrading my watter pump. Do u have a n1 pump or are you just going stock. Im aiming for 600hp and 9k redline. Its in a 96 s14. I dont want my stock watter pump to cavitate. It will already be running hot in that engine bay. Its looking good I hope you have better luck than we did when he put my engine together. Oil scraping ring on je's broke(oiling but perfect compression). I fixed that when i replaced stock rods with carillo. It should fly when I get the power fc that I orderd. Phil rb26 inside

dropping the motor into a 95 s14. using the stock oil pump with mine, it still looks good. going to take a feeler gauge to it and check the clearances before i drop it in. I have a late r32 (or maybe r33 cept i can't find that damn plug that distinguishes the 2). Anyway, its the good oil pump drive, so i think stock oil pump should be ok. Don't plan on revving too too high, and an Accusump is in the future plans.

I got the N1 water pump. Originally i had ordered a new oem water pump from courtesy, but they were backordered for a while so I cancelled and went with N1.

Keeping the stock mains (hopefully won't be a problem since the block is girdled), ARP head studs, and Wiseco pistons.

Have the power fc and 2xq45 mafs. what turbo(s) setup are you going with? i'm on the market for some.

Looking good. Hardest part about building the engine is getting the pistons in. Get a high quality ring compressor tool and spray the inside of the tool with wd40. I sprayed the cylinder walls with wd40 before installing the pistons too. I like to prime the oil pick up. If you do make sure the oil cooler/filter housing is bolted up first. Let me know if you got any questions.

On a side note I got the engine in and bolted in the front 2 mounts yesterday. I am working on the trans mount today.

As my name states we have 2510's on right now. I will see if I out run them. They should spool up fast! Andrew is planning on having head ported and polished before we put it all back togeter. So it dosnt run so hot and so i can run less boost. What gaskit kit do u have? I went with the tomei 1.2mm full kit. I have mine's mass air flows and dump pipes(one is custom). What are you running for a clutch? We have a giken twin. Were did u get your n1 watter pump and how mutch was it.

Is eveyone runninq stock rear end with there rb26 swaps?

i have the oem gasket kit, with a cometic head gasket. the cometic is slightly thicker than stock (i think .09mm thicker). all my intake gaskets came metal and are still in good shape, so i'm reusing those. going to be using the oem exhaust gaskets, and oem everything else. i have hks divorced dump pipes (no down pipe yet). exedy triple plate clutch, and n1 water pump for *I THINK* around $150, don't have it yet though.

Using the stock rear end, mckinney mounts and driveshaft.

Looking good, I'm very interested in the progress of this car. I wish I would've kept it now, I'm currently looking for a 97-98 5 speed.

Car: What the **** do you think.

Damn! I'm envious..

I'd love to build mine.. it's just extremely expensive.

I have a couple questions for you:

-How much are you investing in this? Or planning on investing?-Where did you order your bearings from? Any problems ordering them?-What size bore are you at?-And 600hp? Why not shoot for 800 or so?

Thanks.

I hope to have mine in and running within 2005.. although I have alot of other **** I want to do first (paint, rims/tires, suspension, sound system etc.)..

thanks for the compliments. s14white240 is the person who i bought my car from i loved the car for the 2-3 weeks i drove it around. even w/ the auto transmission. now the motor's out and sold and the carcass is in my garage. its got a small electrical problem and p-brake problem right now but they will be fixed no biggie.

Nameless ej6: i'm investing a decent clip of money into it, hopefully it will be worth it.bearings were from rbmotoring. they did a good job of getting the EXACT stuff i asked to order. props to them for that, and it took about 4 weeks to get to me. prices weren't stellar, but not bad.

bore is at 87mm. i'm going to get a bore gauge this week to verify my bore.

the horsepower number is very up in the air right now. probably going to try to keep it streetable (whatever that means!), and not break the trans. 600 is just a ballpark estimate for what the trans can take for now. also i want to keep the twin setup, maybe we'll see something else in the future with a single.
