I am wanting to know which block to run. I want torque (3300 lbs chassis) but am aming for quad digits on this build. I know I can hit my numbers with the 26 block but in high rpm which would make it a hard driver. Any input by anyone who has experience would be appreciated.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but you might want to ask the aussies about this. They have the most experience with RB30's, and they have some pretty nasty builds using both blocks. I'd GUESS RB26 for your goals, not because of the block, but because of piston speed. Also, do you really care what kind of torque you are going to make with a car making 1000+hp? It's going to have a HUGE laggy turbo on it anyways and be a drag car, right?

If I knew id be this deep into my 25 4 years ago I would have started with an rb30 block with a 26 head. RIPS builds some insane rb30's, Arial my plenum designer from the AU does as well. The power they can make is insane, the added displacement only increases response, and out of boost driving.

The RB30s that put out insane power are also about half-filled with resin to increase the block strength by reducing deformation. The key to the RB30 is in the headwork. Get an RB26 head on it and get it CNC machine ported. It'll cost you about $1500-2000 but will be worth it for the power goals that you're trying to achieve.

Most NiCO members don't have the experience with the RB30 as much as SAU or especially calaisturbo.com.au. There are a few NiCOnauts that run RB30s.

Hi, this is simply 100% false, complete misinformation.

I have been following RIPS builds for about two years. The majority of their high HP blocks are completely stock RB30s with their adaptor kit and that's it. Stock cranks and stock girdles. Yes 1000hp you will need to block strengthen but you would have to do that on any O5U block or 24U block for 1000hp as well. More displacement is better... always...

What are you talking about?! You just repeated what I stated a$$hat! And wow, you've been following RIPS builds for 2 whole years eh? Sounds like a true bench racer to me. WTF?! Please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't call me out like a b**** and then repeat what I just said as being fact.

When you say "high HP", you must be speaking of 1000hp or you wouldn't have chimed in on this thread at all. With your 2 years of RIPS knowledge, you surely would have clarified that the completely stock RB30 bottom ends are only good for ~600hp with their adapter kit. I laugh at this "adapter kit" mostly for the price, but that is for a different thread. All of their high hp blocks come with forged bottom ends at a minimum.

And what head does RIPS run on all their highHP (1000+hp) engines? Oh that's right, the RB26. And here's a youtube video of Robby Ward talking about where the power is massaged from....the head. That's funny because I mentioned that in my previous post that is "100% false, complete misinformation". See video at 3:23.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7sQERmN1BQ

Obvious and agreed.

In summary, I have reviewed my post and it is 100% correct, give or take a few grammatical errors.

I guess he told you Darius! LOLSamurai, please enlighten us on how he is 100% wrong.
