I'm not sure about the 6-SPD, but a local shop put a RB26 into an S13. Here's the link: http://www.upgarageusa.com/?p=29

rb26 and s15 sr aren't really the same either...sounds like you just want a 6 spd trans...why not get a ls1/t56 or even vq35?

how do you go from wanting an RB26 6-sp trans to an s15 6-sp trans?? You seriously need to research. If you did, you'd know that the s15 trans isn't the greatest/strongest trans out there.

why not source out a z32 trans?

oh and yes, you can swap the trans if you keep the SR bellhousing. Wait, are we even talking about swapping transmissions for an SR?

plz be more specific on these types of clueless threads.

you cant use the gt-r rb26 trans because it has the t-case mounted to it for AWD. that why you HAVE to use the gts-t trans from a rb25 when you swap the rb26.

Yes I'm just looking for something with a 6-SPD trans. So can the S15 6-SPD be bolted to a RB26? Lastly I know the 5-SPD is a bit tougher but I'm not racing or drifting the car anyway so it shouldn't matter.

Wait... If you're not racing... what is the point of wanting a 6spd? Just cuz?

/facepalm

Yes, just cause. I just think it would be fun and it may even add some value to the car. I don't need to race it to enjoy having a 6-SPD. I'm just simply curious right now though, there's nothing wrong with dreaming for the moment until I have saved up enough money to make a decision and go for it.

Somebody please just answer the question can some sort of 6-SPD like an S15 or Z33 transmission be joined to an RB26 once modded? I'm just simply curious. I'm not doing anything at all to my car yet. I'm just simply curious. Stupid or not I'm just wondering. So without looking down on me, can somebody please just answer the question? Thank you!

Ok this makes me wonder if this forum is about answering peoples questions and providing help or just making fun of people because you have a different opinion. Can somebody just give me a crap free answer please. I just asked for a simple yes or no and how sort of answer, not a lecture on why I'm dumb because I wouldn't race it on the street like every other stupid kid who thinks he's all hot. Can anyone please just tell me what I want to know?

To answer your question simply... The cost of such an endeavour is highly prohibitive ontop of an already costly swap. Want a U.S. street-legal, yet expensive swap with a more simple 6spd available? Go VQ35DE or LSx. Plain and simple. The transmission mod you mentioned was suggested to you as sarcasm. Sorry kid, dreams over.

THANK YOU!!! That is all I needed to know. So be it if it can't done. As I once said before I'll just save up for doing a SR20 swap someday. It is easier anyway and costs less. Like I said I was just curious. Thank you for finally answering my question. I know I may have sounded stupid but I'm here to learn.

damn dude I didn't mean to crap on you. This happens to just about everyone who's a noob. Mainly because this site is flooded with pointless threads being made everyday (not saying your's is one of them) I just though it was hilarious.

And yes this forum is about people helping other people NOT necesseraly people answering other peoples questions. Not everyone is going to hand feed you the answers to your questions, its a cold world out here

IT is possible...there was a guy here who made an adapter plate to mate the 350z 6spd transmission to the rb26....in my honest opionion i would just just the rb26 bellhousing and try to mate it to the transmission so you can still have the starter in the same location and deal with clearence issure...the s15 transmission would be like butter....the rb26 woudl chew through that like a pitbull on a poodle....from what ive heard the350z transmission can hold a good amount of torque...it is not horsepower that kills trannys but it is the torque....i know this because my boy has a daily drivern 450hp supercharged 350z with upgraded clutch....no problems and no grind....PLUSSSSS if you ever need to rebuild the transmission....the parts are F))(*() cheap compared to rb25 transmission parts.. good luckkk.....i dont know why people got to hate on ideas esp since they cant back it up........

i think the politically correct question is can you afford such a task if it were possible?

if you could you would likely just get a better car than a 240

Or even more so, if he had the money, he wouldn't be asking about it on a place like this.

LSx with t-56.

Yes please.

Full Race R14.. working 2.6 and AWD in a S14... Very expensive, haven't heard of anyone else doing it.

RB20DET transmission uses the same driveshaft as the SR, but I don't know if you can take the rb20 bellhousing and put it on the SR 6speed. I do know neither transmission can hold rb26 power levels or potential.

I want a 6 speed mostly for highway cruising speed, but I want a vq and 350z transmission.
