Hey, ive got a check engine light on my dash, i looked at the power FC sensors and its showing "THRM" sensor highlighted. after searching on skylines australia and skylines down under forums, ive convinced myself that it is the traction control system that is not hooked up. there is a fix that can be done using a 510k ohm resistor tapped from pin 51 on ecu to ground, providing the right 3.5v to turn off the CEL. the only question is... when i look at my ECU pinout for my 98 R34 GTT Neo motor, it doesnt have a matching ECU pin that the Stagea has (the car that skylines australia is using for the example). does anyone have any more knowledge of this? im tired of the light being on, but i want to have it functional for the knock warning of the power FC. thanks!!!

PS: check out my build thread in the mean time zer...age=1

There is a separate TCS computer for our motors. Are you saying you just want the CEL indicator to turn off?

i would like to eliminate the detection of the missing components and therefore make the check engine light stay off. i would still like it to function and do not want to simply eliminate the bulb. i would like to make the power FC not detect that the TCS is missing. i used to have a throttle sensor warning in the power FC but repalced the TPS and the light went off.

thanks,john.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but am interested in a solution if found?

I am looking through the R34 workshop manuals to try and find the pinouts for the traction system, because from what i gather it was a digital link between that computer and the main ECU and so the wire that needs reducing is on the traction loom?

But what i dont understand is how the PFC see's 5.11v if in the NA car there is no TC computer?

If i find a solution ill post for future people.

Matt
