It requires a S-load of fabricating and skill. Not something you wanna tackle if you're new at it.

also note that there's no such thing as a rb25dett only a rb25det. but nevertheless, a rb25dett can be create with a twin turbo setup.

an rb25 upgrade is not even worth the money cuz all you get is a **** load more weight in the front and like the same hp numbers as the sr20. now the rb26 will cost you around 6,000 for a decent engine but you will have to buy a rb25 transmission bcz the rb26 transmission comes with the 4-wheel drive which cant be used

The RB25DET is a large project, and the RB26DETT is an HUGE project. There are some companies like McKinney offering mount kits for RB25/26's, which include the new crossmembers needed to mount the engine and a new driveshaft http://www.undergroundmotorsports.com/catalog.htm. I would think it would almost be necessary to get a full front clip, rather than just a motorset, you will need a lot of the RB parts. Here are some writeups I foundhttp://www.rb25det.org/look in the specs/tech section, there is a lot of info here, and some support if you run into trouble. Also, the SCC install doesn't use the new RB install kits that are available, they custom fab it.http://www.nicoclub.com/zeroth...86298this is also a good one

alright... what about the VG30DETT??? i am an experianced mechanic and would be willing to tackle this... and on the rear ends... what am i going to need to make that handle the HP of the V6 or the strait 6 DETTs ??? im going to call around to diffrent shops today to see if anyone can possibly do the swap for a little extra, and i have found an RB26DETT for 2500 with RWD transmission ecu and wiring, the VG30DETT for 3500 with the same setup... are these good prices????

VG will be even more challanging. Have you seen how those things sit inside a 300zx? Theres barely any room in the engine compartment as it is! You need to lube it up and wedge it in.

Basically, the VG is harder to do than an RB, if you want to do it that badly, go for it bro.

Seems silly to swap a $6K engine into a $2K car...

VG30 will require basically a total custom fabrication. There is no support for that engine in the S chassis. It would be a VERY tight and VERY expensive fitment. Above posts say it all... It would be pretty unique though.

alright... so i dont want the SR20 or the RB25DET and the VG30DETT wont fit... that leaves me with either the RB30DET or DETT... and the RB26DET... if a front clip is avalible.. should i get it.. swap everything off of that onto my 240?? that seems like the easyest way to do it to me

Personally, if I was in your situation, I would try to get a RB26DETT front clip. I believe that most, if not all, RB30s are single cams from the factory, but people have swapped RB26 heads onto RB30 blocks to make them dual cam. I have seen RB26DETT clips on some websites in the past, but I would expect to pay about $8,000 to $10,000 or more just for the clip. Then if you get the RB26, you have to buy an RB25 transmission because the AWD transmission on the RB26 won't work on a 240. After that, probably another $2,000 at least in parts and fabrication to make the swap work. You might run into a little trouble getting both turbos to fit under the hood also. But if you get it done you will have an awesome car!

Get the RB26 if budget is not the issue... however, make sure you know anyone know how to tune the RB26 tho..
