okay so a couple of months ago i got in a car accident, and the car would still start even after the accident. then i removed the engine to do some body work and when i put and connect everything back together, the starter won't even click.

the starter is still good (checkers checked it)wiring is not been messed with at allim reading 12v at both starter thick power cable and signal cablemy ground is fineall other things such as fuel pump, etc...are fineall my fuses are finebattery has juice

what is weird is i also tried jumping the starter and that didn't work, but when checkers did it on their bench it turned over

i don't even get a click from it. i already checked all my connections and they are all fine.

i'm stuck at this point and need help/ideas!!!!!!!!

thanks, p.s. its a s14 with a series 2 rb25det

Try running a positive to the starter directly making sure the battery has a good charge. make sure that the starter has been grounded properly and directly. I had this problem when I wired my starter. There should only be one wire running to it: the positive wire from the ignition running through a fuse and relay when you turn it. I had a ground wire connected to it as well and thats why mine wouldnt start. I believe if the starter setup setup is the same which I believe it is, then just use a direct positive wire from the battery to the outermost post on the starter (the connector that is farthest from the starter motor. See if that works.

okay after going through my wirnig one more time i figured out what my problem was!!!!

so when my lower harness was converted, (auto to manual), the one clip that jumps its self to get the car started also connects directly to the alternator. so basically i had my starter clip connected to my alternator and my alternator one was jumping itself lol

so as soon as i switched them, the car tuned on quickly on first key turn!!! thumbsup.gif

if i didnt make myself clear on my mistake i can go take a picture.

man, its soo good to here my car again after it being down for almost 5 months!!!!!!!!!!

its jizztastic!

that's good to hear! I read a post on the swap and didn't even think about that. Didn't think it would keep it from starting but I guess so. Glad to hear.
