I have recently bought a rb25det to drop into my '90 240sx. The turbo on it has a broken exhaust wheel. I am looking for a fix without spending a whole lot of money. I have come across a vg30et turbo from a '86 300zx. Wondering what the pros and cons would be for putting this turbo on my motor.

I've heard these turbo's have to large of an exhuast side when compared to their compressor, so to much lag for not enough power. I'm sure it'll work just fine, it just won't be the best. The aussie's like to make high flowed turbo's out of them though. I could see it doing pretty good iwht a bigger compressor on it.

From what Ive read its a rb25 turbo with out the ceramic turbine wheel. It might have a bigger exhaust housing but from all Ive gathered its a bolt on.

Id love to find one and run one just to see how it runs.

Ive seen a few Z31 dynos and they always have more TQ then HP, so I would bet the bigger housing would work pretty good on a RB25.

Its pretty weak. The turbo runs out of air before it starts doing anything beneficial to help the RB25. Put a real turbo on it and skip the sand bagging.
