I have a stock series 2 rb5det. I eventually after I get it running and driving a while may upgrade to a larger turbo, injectors, cams etc. Since I have the motor on the engine stand its probably a good idea to replace the head gasket. My question is, which gasket is the best and what thickness is reccomended? The car will be mostly a weekend driver/track/drag for fun. I will probably run 60/40 110 & 91 octane gas. Please advise. Thanks

i am using a stock thickness cometic head gasket in my rb25 right now. if you plan on cranking up the boost and cfm's with a larger turbo a slightly thicker head gasket would help lower compression and the chance of detonation. i also recommend using ARP head studs. if you plan on just upgrading to a better turbo not an large turbo a standard thickness multi-layer steel (MLS) head gasket would be fine.
