Hi I'm New here, I'm looking to Upgrade my Turbo for my RB25det in a S14, But Trying to keep the stock turbo manifold, The only things I researched so far are. 1) stock exhaust manifold is a T3 flange 2) Turbo spec/size: T3/T04e .63/.60ar 3) Turbo must have internal wastegated and that's it (don't know if those things above are true).can anyone help, which turbo is the best for stock turbo manifold? I'm looking for 400-450hp on stock mani (don't know if that's possible)My Mods so far are: 1) 3" exhaust pipe w/ HKS Hi-Power 2) Fal dual fans 3) HKS Bov 4) HKS inter-cooler 5) HKS honeycomb Air-intake 6) Koyo radiator"Just waiting for the Turbo Upgrade and fuel injectors."

That's it for now, I also have greddy Profec e-01 as Boost controller.also, where is a reliable place to buy a turbo, without the cost of Arms & Legs. Thanks for reading and any reply would help me out, Thanks!!! oh, alsowhat questions should I ask the sales persons if I'm searching for my turbo, like turbo size, is it a T3/T04e,What AR does it have, What flange does it have, and does the turbo have to have a internal wastegated??? I just need numbers, so I can talk to the sales person. Thanks so much.

It can be done but is not really worth the trouble. The stock manifold really sucks.

hi advan.

i have seen an external waste gate fitted on the stock exhaust manifold and it was not good... looked very half A**.... any ways.. i am sorry to steal you thread but i need to ask you guys about a similar mod to what you are doiong here... i have just baught a HKS exhaust manifold as well as what looks like a HKS gt2530 with a .50A/R ( dont know if that rigth but that whats printed on the snail. anyways. would i need to upgrade my injectors for this mod??? and if yes would the stock sr20 injectors work???? i know that are pushing 450lph whilst my stock rb25det injectors are only 370lph.

also would the stock ECU do for this mod??? thanx guys.. i appreciate all input and sorry again for stealing your thread ADVAN... ;P

What I always say to questions such as this is "what do you want the final result to be"? If you are going for low 300s than honestly an internally wastegated turbo will do fine and you could just retain the OEM manifold. You might try extrudehoning it for better flow. If you KNOW in the future you want 400 or more than any work spent on the factory manifold and upgraded IW turbo is wasted. Visualize the final result and work back in a logical manner, the path and the parts along the way will be clear.

Thanks guys , but I just wanted to know what to ask the sales person for the turbo upgrade and to do it on the stock manifold, just size/specs of the turbo, like AR , T3 , does it have to have a internal wastegate, stuff like that. not sure what's the best turbo for the stock manifold is. and how much it could handle.

External Wg's cant be fitted to the stock cast iron manifold without exstensive welding, and most people get a "TRUST/Greddy" WG adapter that goes between the turbo and manifold. My friend had it on his RB20DET and used an IHI RHC6 turbo and was running 20 pounds and made 387 rwhp.

can you please post a pic of this adapter? i didnt find it on greddy's site

the stock mani is very restrictive for almost every factory turbo'd vehicle. hit up ebay or other stores for a cheap mani and add the wg adapter if you need to, and get a 3" dp. with good tuning the stock turbo is good for about 300-300whp IF you have proper tuning ... just as you would need for a larger turbo.

injectors would definatly need to be upgraded .... stock 370's wont cut it. 550-660cc's would be a good for what you plan for.

as for a turbo ... it really depends on how deep your pockets are. you could spend $700 on a t3 or spend $1400 on gt30.

why need a trust adapter. you can make one yourself. I had one on my rb25det with gt3251e. it was blast to drive at only 9.5psi.
