So I decided to buy my first 240sx for a project I've never owned a Nissan before but I figured its worth a shot so I bought a series 1 rb25det. Now I have a few mods like.
Greddy intake mani
Cxracing intercooler
Tail 50mm bov
Jgy fuel rail
850cc low independence Injectors
Xo2 top mount turbo mani
Tail 38mm wastegate open dump
3in turbo back exhaust
Gt35r .72 ar
Cxracing aluminum radiator with slim fans
Walbro 255
Aem wideband
Aem tru boost
Mckinny mounts
Mckinny drive shaft

Now I'm trying to accomplish around 400-450whp but I've been trying to figure out what to do with tuning. I honestly have no idea what to buy and my funds have dwindled since I started this project I would like some opinion's. Can I just use nistune or a power fc to do this and what would be better any advice will be greatly appreciated.

im in the same boat u are !!!!! i just bought a 240sx never owned 1 never worked on 1 or nothing all my experience is with DSM's,, im searching for a rb25 and have almost the same excact list of mods in mind as you do...hahaha but yea the toughest part of figureing everything out was wen i was tryin to figure out wat to tune the rb25 with..i was hopeing they had somethin for nissans simalar to DSMLINK but they dont.....ive found you either use a $200 SAFC2 which with the mods u have that would be crappy....or a $600-$800 Apexi PowerFC its like the Dad of the safc2, it is a standalone but only tuned with a handheld programmer, or Wolf 3d or AEM or sumthing... which those two are wayyyy outa my price range idk bout u tho.....i plan on using the Power FC since safc2 is outa the question and its the cheapest.....it is a complete standalone system but has a ugly hand held thing u use to tune with....but they do have a labtop program u can buy for it i gues...http://www.paulr33.com/powerfc-faq/powerfc-faq.htm check that site out tells u everything bout the PowerFC

Ok so I found a guy that's selling a micro tech lt-16x for 900 shipped. he used it for his r32 with a rb26. He said it comes with a premade harness from micro tech and the only thing I would need is a rb26 Injector harness and Injectors and its pretty much plug and play so to speak besides having to hook up an entire harness I don't know if that's a good deal and it sounds kind of off.
I thought the rb25 and rb26 were completely different as far as sensors go. should I be a trusting fellow or what?

I do know about nistune and I thought it would be good for me but how much is it capable of as far as HP goes and reliability I don't mind spending the 1500-2000 for a haltech but is it really worth it when I can get a nistune for like 500?

I dont know how much hp it supports but it has a configuration to use a ford lightning maf, which is good up to 700 hp.

Ive heard of Z32's doing 800whp. Its capable of all the power you want, its just a powerful version of the OEM software. That also means its made to take extreme temps and be reliable.

Standalones are getting better though and are a great option.
