Hey everybody, new to the forums and to the rb motors as well, I know this is likely a highly discussed question, but I can't find any SOLID answers.

Hopefully within the week I'm buying a 95 240sx with an rb25det swap. He has swapped the turbo to a t04, put on injectors (unsure of size, I'll ask), manifold, bov, fmic. Ive heard the rb ecu's can't be tuned, so my question is, what do I need to do? He said that when he had it tuned a few years back he thinks they rom-chipped it, but doesn't really know. So obviously I will need it retuned, because currently it is running a turbo and possibly injectors it isnt tuned for...
So basically, what do I need to do for a tune?
Thanks!

unless its been retrofitted with a z32 ecu or rb20 ecu the stock 25 ecu is not chippable...
a few companies have done conversions on the stock 25 ecu to make it chippable but it was super expensive to do and only a very few were converted.

look into a PowerFC or any given set of aftermarket computers.

Well I guess my next question would be which is the cheapest but still suited for my application?

Nistune is the cheapest. They are from Australia. You can save hundreds from buying their solution. Otherwise just try and pick up a used Power Fc or other ECU solution.

No Nistune attaches to the stock ECU and allows tuning via the car's consult port with a plms consult cable that they also have. If you go to their website they have great customer service and will answer any questions you have.

Like CarlH mentioned, you will need a Z32 ECU to use Nistune.
