Good luck.

They are VERY hard to come by. Call around at all the big names and see what they say. Likely for a used one you will be in for more than $1000.

i think venus-auto sells it for $800 maybe cheaper clall them; or just get the rb20 one and limit yourself from pushing it too hard, especially on launches.

For 2k you could buy a conversion plate and go T56 6 Speed.

If I Ever Break the Rb25 transmission, Im prob going 6 speed or Automatic.

why does everyone think $2000 SHIPPED for a BRAND NEW RB25DET transmission from japan is ridiculous? considering that a non-guaranteed USED one goes for over $1000 now before shipping charges. The fact that the one rhdjapan.com sells is brand new and coming from japan I would say thats a great deal.

it is ridiculous because people that know what's out there on the market and know what they can get alot more and cheaper than that price. ie. Get-rag 6 speed, t56 6 speed, and the list goes on.

several years ago a rb25 transmission goes for $500. too bad it's not getting any better.

ok yes used prices for those trannys are crazy...i admit. i sold one a year ago for $1000 which i thought was a ridiculous price and someone jumped on it like a fly on ****....but for a brand NEW transmission I think thats a decent price.

I actually agree 2000 shipped for a brand new Trans shipped from japan seems plenty fair. Personally I would love to do a T56 swap for that kind of cash but I can't find anyone that sells a bellhousing or even an adapter bracket. And Thats assuming it actually fits the tunnel, has a decent shifter position and you are willing to make a custom bracket.

The link you posted was broken, but I assume you mean this one:http://www.atiperformanceproducts.com/p ... k/akit.htm

In any case I'm pretty sure that wont work for a T56, that adapter is to use something like a GM powerglide or TH400 and attach it to an RB. (Notice there is a note "* Requires a custom ATI 8" torque converter.") which shows its definately not for a manual transmission.

So yea I have still yet to see anyone that makes a bellhousing or adapter for the RB to another trans. I had heard there was someone that was looking to make something to mate the Z33 trans to the RB but I don't think the project was completed.

Anyone who knows of something please correct me, because soon I will be looking to replace the trans in my car, and would LOVE to have another option. (Don't really want to do the RB bellhousing + Z32, cause of the shifter position and needing a new driveshaft.)
