is the stock shifter suppose to have a nylon cap type thing at the bottom of the shifter? reason i ask is because my stock shifter doesnt and whenever i put the transmission in ANY gear, the side to side and back and forth play is huge. feels like its neutral in every gear. i hope that makes sense to you. i really hope that im right and i need that nylon cap for my shifter because i do not want to rebuild this transmission right now

I believe those are your reverse sensor (engages reverse lights), and your speed sensor. I too would like to know a part number for the shifter bushing as mine is sloppy as all hell. The KA transmission bushing is far too small, and the 300zx uses a remote shifter.

actually the two sensors in your pictures are the neutral safety switch and the reverse switch. the speed sensor is further down and a little larger than an inch around i'd say, it looks totally different than that. you can get those switches at your local parts store, i matched them up to the ones that came out of my car on the stock single cam trans and that is what i told them i needed, the neutral safetly and reverse switches on the trans for a 90 single cam manual 240, they had them in stock, they were cheap and they work great.

see in your pic all of the way to the bottom towards the right there is a sensor with a bolt holding it to the trans from the side? that is your speed sensor.
