Rb25det tomei procam shim kit

Hey I was wondering if anybody could help me out I just got tomei pro cams for my rb25det what's the deal with the shim kit does it come with a bunch of different sizes or do you have to order specific sizes or what should I do can anybody help me please thanks

Thanks, and sorry, I'm not sure. I know for some high lift cams on 26 heads, the head might require some clearancing. Not sure on the 25 head though.

Any lift above 9 or 9.1 mm on an RB25 and you will need to have reliefs cut in the head for the cam to pass through. I'm not exacly sure what the procams have for lift, but I want to say it is greater than that. It really isn't that big of a deal though. If you are comfortable grinding with air tools, you could do it yourself with a die grinder and an extended shaft carbide bit. Just make sure not to leave burrs on the interior of the bores where the lifter buckets sit or they will wear and could cause problems down the road.

I just thought about this, and please don't take the question as an insult because it is not intended to be one. Since you didn't know about the shim kit, you do realize you have to do a solid lifter conversion which is very expensive all by itself to run those cams, right?

Yea I know I already got the solid buckets and springs from tomei for that cam setup I just wanted to be sure on the set up process with the shims
